I am sooo tired lately! I almost wouldn’t care if the world ended in 2012. Almost. I guess it is a good thing we have children or we probably never would have gotten this far….although, I think it is my kid that is making me so tired πŸ˜›

I’m hitting that slump where it is like – why am I blogging? Who cares? Why am I trying to do anything? haha I feel like everyone I know is far more interested in their life than what I am trying to accomplish in mine – that’s fair. Obviously I am too interested in my own life – otherwise I wouldn’t be blogging about all it’s boring details, heh. I’m sure no one even reads this. Why would they? Well if you do – don’t forget to check out my music links! It’s not completely professional music, but hey – I work out of a bedroom with a sleeping baby – that’s if I am lucky…sometimes you can hear him in the background, banging on something or talking haha – he’s cute πŸ™‚ Excuses, excuses, right?

I am hoping that I can afford some voice lessons at the college this fall, but we’ll see.

The new song I made today, called Airship: Picnic in the Sky, turned out to be only slightly disappointing. I spent every extra second I had today trying to make a rhythm out of just sound effects that kept a beat but also sounded just like an airship. I also was trying to be careful to make it sound happy and non-threatening – cuz I wanted to dedicate it to my mom and she doesn’t really like anything dark sounding. What I came up with was a really simple song that was just instrumental. When I finally posted it – my mom didn’t like it haha. :O Β I kept listening to it to see if I could hear it like she was hearing it….but, I liked it. So I kept it. A little disappointed that I didn’t quite get her cup of tea, but I like the relaxed, floating feeling of the song and after fiddling with all the sound effects on my computer for hours…I’m kinda proud of what I ended up with. I think I will tinker with it a little more. Give it a few improvements…I’m a tinkerer πŸ˜‰

About MissEclectric

My first attempt at blogging and I find myself staring blankly. What do I have to say that might interest anyone else? I made this blog to have a place to talk about my music that I have very recently started making. I found out that I enjoy nothing more than creating music and because I LOVE the steampunk culture, I decided I would gear my sound and style toward that genre. I only have two songs up on YouTube so far (and only one is mechanical sounding) because I’m going over all the songs I made previously to this decision and giving them a more mechanical sound and feel. I want to incorporate the old jazz styles as well – so if anyone is interested – that is what I am working on and what you can look forward to (if you like what I do).

A little about me and my life. It’s pretty simple. I’m a single mother so I don’t have very much spare time but when I get some I am scrambling to create a new song (or doing something like this) or garden (I have a goal to grow at least 75% of my fruits and vegetables this year). I have a beautiful boy – 9 months this week – very healthy. Very talented (of course I would say that). But seriously…he’s super smart. He gets that from me πŸ˜‰ Β His name is Helo and, yes, I got that from Battlestar Galactica. I just loved the name and nothing else fit and I was very pleased that Helo (on the show) was such a good man. Seems like if you want to see a good man these days you have to watch fiction. I’M not bitter. Hehe

I’m trying a new garden technique this year. Vertical gardening – I looked for the YouTube video that I got the idea from but I didn’t find the one that I saw before – there are tons though so you always have your pick. Using wooden pallets, I just make a large garden box and you plant your garden and let it sit horizontally for a week and then turn it up vertically and it saves you space. I have to pallets completed so far – one full of onions and the other has 2 types of cabbage, broccoli, kale, and lettuce. The lettuce looked amazing when I started but is dying for some reason, and I don’t know why…everything else is doing pretty well, though. The kale plants were these weak little things that my mom gave me. They were practically dead and I thought I would plant them and not expect them to live, but now they seem to get healthier looking every day.

Does anyone else have health problems? Everyone seems to these days. I had 8″ of my small intestine removed about 9 years ago and since then they have been having a lot of trouble soaking up nutrients. Then when I had Helo my body really got malnourished. That is one of the reasons I want to grow as much fresh food as possible – I super need it! I’m seeing some naturopathic doctors in Portland and they have me on a routine and diet that are supposed to sooth and heal my intestines. I think it is working, but I’m still feeling pretty weak and dizzy.

Heh, I’m not sure…do I say goodbye? Do I just stop writing? I’m tired. I’m going to bed. Oh ps I saw on the daily post the photography challenge thing. I like photography and I think if I can handle another project I will jump on that.
